I hadn’t gone to clubs for years, but after I was cast in a heavy-metal music video, I went to see the band perform. I found myself freestyle dancing, and encouraging everyone around me to do the same. Soon, the place was rocking! The band often brought me up onto the stage, and some even offered to pay me to come to their gigs.
I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if the performers themselves were the ones who turned on the crowd to dancing?” There are some simple ways to make that happen, including doing some simple choreographed steps yourself (yes, I can quickly teach you how) and redirecting your performance energy from the floor or your band-mates to the audience!
I can help you connect with the audience using other proven strategies, such as making eye contact without losing your musical focus; varying your delivery within a song to pique the audience’s attention; engaging the audience between songs to maintain interest; and enjoying yourself, which sends off compelling positive vibes.
